A Harry Potter-themed shop for budding wizards and an indoor bouldering studio are just some of the new additions which have opened along an NR3 street in 2022.

Magdalen Street lies in a "trendy" corner of Norwich which was likened to London's Shoreditch earlier this year.

So it's no wonder so many start-ups and independents set their sights on this street this year.

Here are five businesses which opened in 2022.

1. Norwich Cauldron

With wands, spell books and accessories for every budding witch or wizard, Norwich Cauldron has become the go-to place for Harry Potter fans in Norfolk.

It opened back in March and just six weeks later the business was even nominated for an award.

Owners Rachel Watkins and Stephen Knock also regularly organise interactive activities and events for their followers.

2. Rock Punk

Rock Punk is a bouldering studio located in a former shop in Magdalen Street.

Creating a climbing wall in a shop space may seem unusual but it allows for a unique challenge for climbers.

And when its doors opened back in May, owner Dave Freestone said they had an "amazing" response.

3. Bread Source

NR3 residents have been getting their fill of fresh bread and pastries since the opening of Bread Source in Magdalen Street, with queues regularly seen outside of the door

Bread Source was founded in 2012 by award-winning baker Steven Winter and his wife Hannah.

Since then the brand has expanded across seven sites including Norwich Market, Bridewell Alley, the Refectory at Norwich Cathedral, Upper St Giles and in Aylsham.
