Norwich market has been the focal point of commerce in the city for centuries and it is a place where you can find almost anything you desire.
In 2022, there were a number of new additions that opened for business.
Here are five traders that set up shop at Norwich market in 2022.
1. Upcycle Workshop
Artist Katerina Moustaki decided the hustle and bustle of Norwich market would provide the ideal setting for her upcycled jewellery workshop.
People can watch her at work as she creates bespoke pieces at the stall and you can also buy the items directly from the workshop.
2. French Crepes
A taste of France came to the market when chef Alex Caushaj opened his stall serving Parisian-inspired crepes.
Everything is cooked fresh at the stall and there are also pastries, paninis, milkshakes and canned drinks on offer.
3. Bodega
Serving New York-style sandwiches, Bodega has been a hit with customers since it opened in July.
It is rare to not find a queue of people waiting to get their hands on one of Bodega's deep-filled sarnies, serving an array of flavours from Nashville-hot fried chicken to a vegan 'chicken' Ceaser.
4. Norwich Kitchenware
Budding chefs got a welcome addition to the market in November after former cabbie Javed Haidary opened his stall.
Selling high-quality pots, pans and kitchen equipment, he hopes to inspire people's love of cooking by using the best equipment around at affordable prices.
5. New dining area offering beers and Chilean street food
Two well-established market traders decided to join forces in April this year and create a new dining area for people to enjoy a pint alongside a meal.
Sir Toby's Beers and Cocina Mia opened the seating area at stalls 154 and 161 in the former home of Barry's of Norwich, a fabric stall which closed after 50 years in business.
It follows the success of Sir Toby's Beers' Norwich Market Nights venture launched in 2020 in response to the pandemic.
