Folk in a city suburb are pleading with the council for help fixing the state of its verges after years of neglect and illegal parking.
Green spaces and verges along The Avenues have "fallen into disrepair" due to illegal parking being rife in the area thanks to the lack of signs and bollards stopping people.
Shaun Quinton, 54, lives in The Avenues and has noticed the slow decline of the area saying: "Bollards are missing in various locations along the road, meaning the 'no parking on verge' signs usually attached to them aren't visible.
"So people illegally park on the verges and it's all now falling into disrepair.
"If new kerbs were put in it would help protect the verges from erosion, keep the area looking nicer, and maybe less bollards would be needed.
"It's always been an issue but it's got worse during the last year."
A spokesman for Norfolk County Council, which looks after the area, said: "Regrettably, due to the considerable cost, we do not intend to reintroduce bollards to the previous extent at the current time.
"We'll continue to monitor any damage to bollards and ensure the safety of the highway, including the verge, as well as to allow the continued enforcement of the verge parking order.
"Work to remove damaged bollards or reinstate those which support parking restriction signage has been undertaken.
"If replacement kerbing was required as part of a forthcoming road resurfacing scheme or a footway reconstruction project this would be looked at, but there are currently no plans in this area for such work to be carried out."
However Mr Quinton added: "These issues need to be addressed because every year it's left the more expensive it will be to rectify.
"Generally the area is a nice place but the state of it currently makes it not very nice to look at."
