One of Norfolk's busiest McDonald's branches is closing for two months for a renovation.

The Tuckswood takeaway and restaurant, in Barrett Road, will temporarily shut from Thursday, April 20 until Wednesday, June 21 2023.

Plans were submitted last summer to Norwich City Council for the major refurbishment, which will see a new glass front installed.

The restaurant will also be extended by an additional 35.4 sqm and the large McDonald's sign at the entrance will be replaced.

The restaurant extension will result in a relocation of the entrance and two fewer parking spaces.

The kerb will also be altered to improve access to the drive-thru for takeaway customers.

The revamp will include a shipping container for more dry storage and a new bin store.

In the meantime, the closest restaurants are at Chantry Place and Hay Hill in Norwich city centre, with the nearest drive-thru at Thickthorn.

The franchisee of the Tuckswood branch is Kevin Foley, who owns and runs ten McDonald's franchises in Norwich, Beccles, Cromer and Great Yarmouth.
