Norwich Beer Festival will go ahead at The Halls this year, it has been confirmed.

Uncertainty had surrounded October's celebrations after it was announced in April that the buildings, which have hosted the event since the 1970s, would be closing for all of 2024 as part of a £3.6m revamp.

But organisers have now been able to confirm that the 45th Norwich Beer Festival will take place at The Halls between Monday, October 23 and Saturday, October 28.

Posting on the event's official Twitter account, a spokesman said: "We are super happy to confirm the 45th Norwich Beer Festival is 100% going ahead at The Halls.

"Advanced tickets are going on sale soon."

The confirmation comes as coordinators, Campaign for Real Ale (Camra), eye potential venues for next year - with an approach to Norwich Cathedral being rejected and the Norfolk Showground being ruled out due to its location.

Bosses had also looked into Epic Studios in Magdalen Street and the former Open building in Bank Plain, which has remained closed since April 2020, but both were deemed too small.
