A new Aldi supermarket has opened on the outskirts of Norwich, with a ParalympicsGB swimming hero cutting the ribbon.
Jessica-Jane Applegate opened the store along William Frost Way at Longwater in New Costessey on Thursday at 8am (July 6) and she was joined by pupils from Queen’s Hill Primary School.
Also in attendance was up-and-coming para-athletics athlete Samuel Cozens.

The store manager is Jamie McDonald and the opening has brought 50 new jobs to the area.
Miss Applegate, who was born in Great Yarmouth, also gave free bags of fruit and vegetables to the first 30 customers in the queue.
Mr McDonald said: "It was lovely to welcome our new customers and I look forward to meeting more of the community in the coming weeks."

Aldi's 'Specialbuys' will be available every Thursday and Sunday and during the opening week there is a range of school uniform discounts.
The store is open Monday to Saturday 8am-10pm and Sundays 10am-4pm.
Earlier this week, Aldi apologised after work on the road and pavement near the store caused gridlock traffic.
