A video has captured the moment a van carrying asbestos burst into flames on a major road.
Fire crews were called to the blaze on the NDR near Taverham at 2.13pm on Wednesday (August 23).
Footage shows a large fire in the front compartment of the van, while fire crews battle to extinguish the flames.
After the blaze had died down, a huge plume of smoke could be seen billowing from the vehicle, creating dangerous conditions for motorists.
Reports have suggested that two men were in the van when it caught fire, although they managed to get to safety by jumping out on to the roadside.
Crews from Sprowston, Earlham and Carrow used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
