Raheem Sterling is a man on a mission against Norwich City in Manchester City’s Premier League finale on Sunday.

The England ace needs one more top flight goal to hit 20 in a season for the first time in his career, after his brace in the midweek 4-0 romp at Watford.

Sterling is also warning Pep Guardiola’s squad is in the mood to produce a big performance, with a Champions League shoot out against Real Madrid on the horizon.

“The most important thing is to finish strongly with the game at the weekend. That’s all we can do,” he said, quoted on his club’s official site. “Prepare right, do the right things and hopefully take that into the Madrid game.

“Anything can happen in football and we are just happy that we’ve another game before that one. We’ll try to take as many positives as we can from the game against Watford and the one at the weekend. We’ll try to make the most of it.”

Sterling is well aware he has a personal milestone in reach against the relegated Canaries. The 25-year-old has notched a remarkable 33 goals in 54 appearances for club and country this season.

“It’s massive as a winger to score 20 goals in the Premier League,” he said. “It’s a massive achievement and we have one more game left, so I hope I can do it then.

“I scored the first one (at Watford) and I knew I was on 18 so I stepped up. I knew I had another chance to get the hat-trick, it didn’t happen but I’m really happy with the two goals.

“The previous season I scored less goals but won more trophies – which is the most important thing, if your goals are contributing to winning trophies. So I wouldn’t say it’s my best season.”
