Norwich's 'Queen of Peas' who was at the helm of the market's mushy pea stall for more than 15 years, has died at the age of 62.
Anita Adcock was born to Rose and Derek Mills in Hellesdon on January 18, 1960.
She grew up in Bush Road with her older sister Janet and attended Blyth Jex High School, now Sewell Park Academy.
A hairdresser in the more formative years of her career, she then worked at Reggie's in Norwich Market.
After she met her husband Carl - who she married a St Mary's Church in Low Road, Hellesdon in July 1983 - she joined her husband's family's mushy peas business for more than 40 years before retiring in February 2022.
She and Carl took over ownership of the business in 2006.
The couple had two children - Daniel who was born in 1988 and Matthew in 1989.
The mushy pea stall, which closed the hatch for the final time in February, had its home on the market for 73 years.
Paying tribute to his mother, Daniel Adcock said: "She dedicated a lot of her adult life to the market stall.
"She loved working there and talking to people - she was very much a people person.
"That's what she was all about. Always friendly.
"We've been inundated with messages since they learned of her passing. It's been overwhelming.
"It's been a great comfort to us. It's lovely to see how she touched so many people.
"My sister-in-law always called her the Queen of Peas. It's a testament to her legacy."
Anita died in her sleep on October 26, 2022 aged 62 following a battle with amyloidosis.
She is survived by her 91-year-old mother Rose, husband Carl, sons Daniel and Matthew, daughters-in-law Lianne and Jess and her three granddaughters - Evelyn, Tallula and Macie.
Those who wish to pay their respects can do so at Anita's funeral, which will be held on Tuesday, November 29 at 11am at Colney Wood followed by a wake at the Old Rectory in North Walsham Road.
