A Norwich addict who knows the 'misery' that class A drugs bring is back behind bars after she admitted conspiracy to supply cocaine.

Sonia Fox, 39, was found with more than £700 worth of cocaine on her after police executed a drugs warrant in Norwich.

Norwich Crown Court heard Fox was found with drugs worth £734 on her as well as a phone which contained messages consistent with "buying and selling cocaine".

Chris Youell, prosecuting, said Fox had been one of three people found when police executed the warrant at an address in Penn Grove, Norwich on October 12 this year.

He said she had "cocaine on her person" as well as about £70 in cash and a mobile phone which was examined and found to contain drug-dealing messages.

Fox, formerly of Penn Grove, Norwich, who is currently at HMP Peterborough appeared at court on Tuesday (November 15) having previously admitted possessing a class A drug with intent to supply.

Mr Youell said she has seven convictions for 22 offences, including two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs on October 9, 2018 for which she was jailed for four years and one month in July 2020.

Jailing her for a total of 30 months for the latest offence, Judge Alice Robinson said it was "disappointing" Fox had "succumbed" to her addiction to drugs after having previously received a custodial sentence for being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin in 2020.

John Morgans, mitigating, said Fox is "addicted to drugs".

He said: "It's another life blighted by drugs."

Mr Morgans said she was "particularly ashamed" of becoming involved again in supplying class A drugs as she "knows the misery and knows what is involved in this".

He said as her addiction became "more and more out of control" she "mixed with people looking to buy drugs and that's how it came about".

Mr Morgans added that she was "genuinely sorry for what she's done" and her insight was "significant" as was her remorse which is evidenced by her guilty plea to the offence.
