Memory
Having grown up in Norfolk there are so many memories, but one I cherish is the time spent with my dad fishing on the Broads, Ranworth and Malthouse Broads in particular, when I was only a boy aged nine or 10. Happy days.
Landmark
Norwich Castle was always a favourite as a kid, seeing the dungeons. I remember there was a huge stuffed polar bear and a tiger that roared when a button was pressed. That always made me laugh!
Attraction
I have been lucky enough to sing and work at the Thursford Collection for the past 16 years and to see how it has grown in that time is amazing. During the year it is a full-blown steam museum with engines on display and at Christmas time it is transformed into the most magical place where incredible performers from across the country come together and perform this amazing show. To see the reaction of the audience at every show is a performer's dream and I am thrilled to still be a part of it.
Pub
This is a difficult one. There are so many great pubs in Norfolk, Norwich city centre and out in the countryside there are too many to choose from. Invites are always welcome!
Place to eat
My food heaven is fish and chips on Cromer seafront. The fantastic food at The Brisley Bell is also a favourite.
Beach
I love the beach at Sea Palling: beautiful sand and safe places to swim in the sea. The cafes and shops at the entrance remind me of fun family days out.
Shop
I’m not a massive shopper, but I do like gadgets so the Apple Store is on my list.
Export
I have to stay close to home here and mention Thursford again. There really is no show in the country that has as many world-class performers delivering top-quality entertainment to sold-out audiences. People come from far and wide to see the show and I believe Norfolk should be proud that we can produce something of this scale year after year.
Walk
From Holkham to Wells along the coast is a wonderful day out. I love a sea breeze!
John is appearing in the Thursford Christmas Spectacular, which runs until December 23. For more information and bookings visit thursford.com
