An artist whose work is inspired by nostalgia and her childhood surrounded by nature is hosting a pop-up shop and exhibition in Norwich this weekend.
Victoria Catten, 24, grew up in a small village outside Holt which influences her illustration and textile work.
This weekend - and for one weekend only - she will set up shop at Norwich Pop Up in St Augustines Street to exhibit and sell her work.
This will be her second shot at having a pop-up of her own after Covid restrictions meant her graduate exhibition in 2021 was restricted to just a window display in another St Augustines unit that people had to view from the outside.
Victoria, who graduated from Norwich University of the Arts with a BA in Illustration before taking on her masters in Textile Design, now lives in NR3 with her boyfriend and crafts her creations from her studio in her family home in North Norfolk.
She said: "I spent a lot of time at the beach, especially Cley and Blakeney. At the weekends, with my dad, that's where I'd be.
"At the time I thought it was so boring, but I look back at it fondly now.
"I was surrounded by nature all the time.
"I feel excited to be in St Augustines Street again. My last pop-up gave me the confidence to start my business in January.
"It was sad that I was not allowed visitors inside last year but having this opportunity to be back down this street is nice as this feels familiar for me and customers who saw the shop last summer.
"There's a vulnerability of putting yourself into your art. I used to be really shy but I realised that pushing myself put me out there.
"I'm really excited for this. I love St Augustines. I wanted to do a proper shop and pop-up last time, so this is a real opportunity to give myself a proper start."
Victoria's pop-up, open on Saturday, November 26 and Sunday, November 27, will offer a range of handmade and playful paper and acrylic goods and gifts.
