A city pub known for its work in helping the community survive the cost of living crisis has turned its efforts towards pets.
Jonathon and Tanya Childs, who run the Garden House, have set up a service for people to donate food via the pub for animals that belong to homeless people or others in need.
The couple have run several charitable and fundraising initiatives since they took on the NR2 pub in January 2019, and it was recently named community pub of the year at a national awards.
“It's important to help the most vulnerable in our city, especially at this time of year," Jonathon said.
“Our Christmas spirit can help those on the streets with pets.
“These animals are often loyal, warm, affectionate companions and it would be nice to give out food and treats to those who are less fortunate so that their animals are well fed.”
Any donations can be dropped off at the Garden House during opening hours.
