A visit to the pub, shop or garden centre is often brightened up by the sight of a furry friend.

Here are just a few of the resident business dogs of Norwich, ready to greet you at the door.

1. Norway

Where: The Pear Tree Inn, 79 Unthank Road, NR2 2PE

The Pear Tree Inn on Unthank Road is home to friendly Norway, often seen sat at the bar or wandering around their terrace.

2. Toby

Where: Carberrys, 18 Wensum Street, NR3 1HY

A little face is often seen in the doorway to Carberrys Cafe on Wensum Street.

Toby quietly and calmly watches the world go by, enjoying a little fuss from passers-by.

3. Melrose

Where: The Wolf Pack Salon, 54a St Benedicts Street, NR2 4AR

In the window of the Wolf Pack Salon on St Benedicts Street sleeps Melrose.

Her fluffy bed sits in the window of the hair salon as she watches those walking past.

4. Alan

Where: The Wildman, 29 Bedford Street, NR2 1AG

Pub dog Alan watches over the goings-on at the Wildman pub on Bedford Street.

5. Bailey

Where: Thorpe Plant Centre, 191A Plumstead Road, NR7 9LW

6. Big Dillon, Little Dylan, Butterscotch and Booker

Where: Arboretum, 43 St Benedicts Street, NR2 4PG

Arboretum in St Benedicts Street, is home to owner Gregory Williams' four dogs Big Dillon, Little Dylan, Butterscotch and Booker, who greet guests at the cosy Victorian decorated bar.

7. Willow

Where: Head in the Clouds, 13 Pottergate, NR2 1DS

Willow is sometimes seen in Head in the Clouds, the oldest headshop in Britain in the heart of Norwich Lanes.

She picks out her neck scarf herself each morning.

8. Goose

Where: Gonzo's Tea Room, 68 London Street, NR2 1JT

Goose of Gonzos is well-loved by the bar's party-goers.

Seen regularly at the city bar getting a cuddle.

9. Dude

Little Dude is often seen sitting by the fire in The Leopard pub, keeping those sampling the real ale and craft beer.
