A Norwich street food cafe has been named a 'Sausage Roll Champion' as they received an unexpected award.
Chef Ron's Kitchen in Lower Goat Lane offers a range of American deli food, including sourdough, sandwiches and award-winning sausage rolls.
The informal award was decided by staff working in the city for Aviva, after 15 eateries were sampled, with Chef Ron's mouthwatering savoury treat coming out on top.
Ron Uhrig opened Ron's Kitchen seven years ago, three years after moving to Norwich.
Owner and chef Ron Uhrig, aged 54, said: "When I moved over here from America, I had so many good sausage rolls.
"I thought, if ever I make one, I have to make it really nice, so that's what I did."
Mr Uhrig uses premium pork in his puff pastry rolls, supplied by Burgers Plus in Sweet Briar.
Adapting his flavours on the day, some feature chutneys, while others feature Colman's mustard, seeing the value in using local produce.
Sausage rolls range in size, whilst kept "affordable" at £3.
In the lead-up to Christmas and in celebration of Thanksgiving, Ron's Kitchen are offering sandwiches filled with gammon, stuffing, bacon, cranberry sauce and turkey for £5.50.
