Hoards of overexcited England fans celebrating the country's 3-0 World Cup triumph over Wales have accidentally smashed one of the windows at a city centre pub.
The old sash windows at The Murderers in Timberhill were unable to take the banging and cheering of Three Lions fans last night (November 29) after Marcus Rashford scored the third goal, with one giving way.
But despite the damage, landlord Phil Cutter said it all came as a result of "good-natured fun" with the culprit offering to pay to have the window repaired.
Mr Cutter said "Basically we've got really old windows and when we scored they were all tapping them and one went through.
"It's just one of those things, a bit of over-exuberance.
"We're quite lucky really as it's the first time we've had one break in 13 years."
He said the pub was packed despite some boozers reporting slow trade during the winter World Cup.
Mr Cutter added: "It was packed, a really good atmosphere and a really good result, we're just getting ready for Sunday now."
