Patients could be waiting for longer than usual to see a doctor at the city's walk-in centre amid the Strep A outbreak.
Last week a mum warned other parents to look out the symptoms of the disease as her daughter was diagnosed with Strep A after a four-hour wait at the Rouen Road centre.
Now, the National Health Service (NHS), has confirmed it is fighting to keep up with the increase in poorly kids.
A spokesman from NHS Norfolk and Waveney said: "Our local health services, especially those for children and young people, continue to be very busy and staff are working hard to provide the best possible care for patients.
"Please expect to wait longer than usual as we are experiencing a high number of enquiries.
"We ask that people are patient and understanding at this time.
"If you feel that your child seems seriously unwell, you should trust your own judgement and contact NHS 111 if you suspect your child has Strep A or scarlet fever."
