A busy city centre street that recently reopened following a £6.1m redevelopment project will see a temporary one-way traffic system in place for a week in January.
The planting of trees and vegetation in the new planters on St Stephens Street will begin on January 9 and the last day of disruption will be on January 16.
During this time, the street will have a lane closure and a one-way system operating.
The one-way system will then change direction mid-way through the week to allow planting on the other side of the street.
Work will take place first on the inbound, Chantry Place shopping centre side of the road.
Diversion routes for traffic that use St Stephens Street will be provided while the one-way system is in place.
Bus stops will not be in operation on the closed lane side of the road and bus passengers are advised to check with service providers for any alterations to timings.
Information regarding alternate stop locations will also be posted at the affected bus stops before the work starts.
A Norfolk County Council spokesperson said: "We will be undertaking works along St Stephens Street to install planting for one week in January, so as not to disrupt the Christmas festive period.
"Every effort will be made to complete the work as quickly as possible.
"We thank the public and businesses for their continued patience whilst works are completed."
