Popular city drag queens The Squirrels who have been on stage and screen including an appearance on the X Factor are set to take their final bow as a duo this year.
The Squirrels have been performing together since 2015 when they discovered those drag queens who sing in harmony were hard to come by as many queens were opting to lip sync.
The pair had been performing as lead vocalists in the Canary Islands for many years prior to this so were aware of their talents.
Now, eight years since they created The Squirrels, they are set to part ways as they go out with a bang in a brand-new show that will be staged at The Playhouse in April.
Chris Ewens-Nicoll, 38 from Spixworth, also known as Mrs C said: “We have chosen now to say a farewell as we have just become busy both professionally and personally.
“We still the very best of friends.”
Kenny Moore, 54, Cloverhill, also known as MSK added: “Exactly, we are both going to be going forward with our solo drag careers.
“And my radio show will also be coming back on air, so we will both be around.”
Chris is also heading into a new show that will first appear at Butlins and he is hopeful it will later head on a UK tour.
But with so many years of performances and memories, there are many notable performances and appearances that The Squirrels will look back on and remember fondly.
Kenny said: “Playing Wembley Arena twice on The X Factor was pretty epic.
“But there's been so many amazing shows from playing pantomime dames & recently appearing as an after-dinner cabaret on an episode of COME DINE WITH ME.
“Pride shows have always been so incredibly important to us both as it just brings everyone together and the sense of community always feels so very special.”
Chris added: “The drag scene has really started to flourish in Norwich, which is amazing to see.
“It has to be one of the most diverse scenes around.”
The Last Ta-Da is set to be like looking into a scrapbook of The Squirrels time together and will be a chance to celebrate.
The show takes place at The Playhouse April 7 at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £15 each.
