Norwich: Pub quizzes from the Rose Tavern to the Earlham

So instead of sinking pints why not get the brain cells working? 

Here are some of the pub quizzes to attend Sunday through to Thursday in our Fine City.

There are many more pub quizzes running throughout the city but here are those most loved by the brain-boxes in the Norwich Evening News office.

Sunday

Where: Rose Tavern, 88 Rupert St, Norwich NR2 2AT

Get your brain warmed up after the weekend before the working week starts with this Sunday night quiz.

The NR2 local is a popular choice for pub-goers and quizzers alike with their Sunday and  Tuesday quiz offerings. The Tuesday quiz has a later start time of 8.30pm.

A £50 voucher to spend at the bar is up for grabs for the winners of this in-depth and challenging quiz. Every team gets a packet of biscuits for taking part.

Monday

Where: Plasterer's Arms, 43 Cowgate, Norwich, NR3 1SZ

Spend your Monday evening in this cosy and warm NR3 pub enjoying their quirky quiz, while sipping one of their real ales.

There are a maximum of six members per team. Entries are £1 each, and all money goes to NANSA charity.

The pub teases "prizes beyond imagination up for grabs every week. Bring your thinking caps - and your drinking caps".

Winners spin the wheel at the end of the quiz to settle their fate.

Tuesday

Where: The Rumsey Wells, 4 St Andrews, Norwich NR2 4AF

Some say this is the most "wacky and off the wall" quiz in the city hosted by the Australian quiz master.

Brendo's Big Quiz offers 10 prizes at the city centre pub.

The first prize is a £20 in-house voucher and £10 for the second place. There is a mystery booze prize for the third-placed team. 

There is also a cash jackpot which increases each week until it has been won.

Wednesday

Where: The Earlham, 41 Earlham Rd, Norwich, NR2 3AD

Thursday

Where: The Lamb Inn, Lamb Yard, Orford Place, NR1 3RU

The Lamb Inn hosts a smartphone quiz on Thursdays which is free to play and there are cash prizes on offer - you just need to download the ‘We Love Quiz’ app.

There is a £20 bar tab available for the winner.
