With businesses tackling rising overheads due to the cost of living crisis, it has never been more important to support local.
Use them or lose them and buy from fantastic Norfolk producers at these regular farmers' markets across the county.
1. White House Farm, Sprowston
Where: Wroxham Road, Sprowston, NR13 6LB
When: Third Saturday of the month starting February 18, 9am-1pm
From chutney to cheese, this monthly farmers' market was recently relaunched at White House Farm and it can be held outdoors or indoors in the grain barn depending on the weather.
While you are there make sure to pop into the fantastic farm shop and the permanent shops at the site, including The Watering Can with its unique plants and gifts.
2. Creake Abbey, North Creake
Where: North Creake, Fakenham, NR21 9LF
When: First Saturday of the month starting on February 4, 9.30am-1pm
This award-winning farmers' market returns in February and there will be more than 50 stalls, making it one of the biggest in Norfolk.
Among the stallholders appearing at the first event in 2023 include Cardarelli’s Cakery, Fizz and Fromage with artisan cheese and cheese toasties and Marsh Pig Charcuterie.
3. Black Barn Farm, Salhouse
Where: Norwich Road, Salhouse, NR13 6QG
When: Second Saturday of the month from February 11, 10am-1pm
Expect a whole host of local food and drink traders at this brilliant monthly market, which takes place on the outskirts of Norwich.
Last year, planning permission was granted by Broadland District Council to transform the barn there into a farm shop, café, restaurant and butchery.
4. Norfolk Farmers Market
Where: Various villages in Norfolk
When: Check Norfolk Farmers Market UK Facebook page for upcoming dates
Norfolk Farmers Market was launched by Donna Mackenzie, from Dereham, in October 2022 and it goes to villages across Norfolk, including Bowthorpe, Hoveton, Honingham, Lyng, Hingham and Binham.
It has proved hugely popular and Miss Mackenzie has brought 170 vendors on board so far.
5. Holt Sunday Market, Holt
Where: Market Place, Holt, NR25 6BW
When: First Sunday of the month, April-December
Expect handmade gifts, artisan food stalls, street food and live music at this celebration of Norfolk producers and makers.
Applications are now open for 2023 traders online and there are road closures in place to make way for the monthly event.
