Work on a prominent new city centre student flat block is on track for completion before the next academic year.
St Crispins House in Duke Street - once a 70s office building home to the Stationary Office - is being transformed as part of a £42m contract for a new 684-bed student accommodation block.
The building looms over St Crispins Road roundabout encased in white sheeting but is on track to open this summer ahead of the 2023/24 academic year.
Construction giant McAleer and Rushe is transforming the building and constructing additional floors to create a seven-storey building as well as a five-storey extension to the rear.
Run by student housing provider Yugo, room prices will start at £175 a week.
The site will boast common rooms, a gym, a multipurpose event room, study spaces, laundry facilities, a large courtyard with cycle spaces and electric vehicle charging points.
Residence manager John Mosley said: "Completion is set for July.
"Everyone will be moving in, in September. All is on track and going well.
"It's really taking shape, it looks great.
"Work seems to be really cracking on."
