An 18-year-old accused of the murder of a Norfolk teenager in Suffolk has appeared in court charged with his involvement in a brawl in Norwich.
Alfie Hammett, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with the murder of 18-year-old Raymond James Quigley.
Mr Quigley, from Wymondham, who is known as James, died after being stabbed in Westgate Street, Ipswich, on January 17.
Hammett, who has also been charged with possession of a knife in relation to the January incident, appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court on Tuesday (February 15) via videolink.
It was in relation to a fight in the Prince of Wales Road area of Norwich on September 11 last year.
Hammett, formerly of Larkhill Ride, Rushmere St Andrew, near Ipswich has been charged with wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, two counts of assaulting an emergency worker, namely police officers, and affray.
The case was formally sent up to Norwich Crown Court on March 15.
Cases involving Oliver Systern, 22, of Wilberforce Road, Norwich and Jorone Johnston, 37, formerly of Hall Road, Norwich who have been charged with affray, were also sent to the crown court on the same date.
Hammett and the 17-year-old boy, are next due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court, also on March 15, in relation to the murder and possession of a knife offences.
A post-mortem examination carried out by a Home Office pathologist revealed Mr Quigley had suffered four stab wounds to his torso.
A statement released by his family has described how Mr Quigley "shone as bright as any star" and that life will never be the same without him.
Mr Quigley's sister Kathleen, 32, has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for his funeral.
