Is Norwich the divorce capital of England and Wales?
Data from the 2021 census revealed that 12.8pc of people aged 16 or over in the fine city are divorced or were formerly in a civil partnership - the highest proportionally across the two nations.
The figures, published by the Office for National Statistics, show Hastings in East Sussex and Blackpool level in second place at 12.1pc, with Lincoln and Gosport, near Portsmouth, both clocking in with 11.9pc.

Only beaten by Blackpool (35.3pc) outside of London, Norwich is also in the national bottom 10 for people being married or currently in a civil partnership with 35.4pc.
At the other end of the scale, Harrow has the highest number of people married or in a civil partnership at 54.8pc.
The figures follow earlier data released from the census that showed 38.9pc of people in Norwich are living on their own.
