Let your tastebuds take flight at an immersive theatre experience returning to Norwich, where you will also enjoy a seven-course tasting menu.
Local theatre company Curious Directive is reviving its 2018 show Gastronomic and it will take place in its studio at St Simon and St Jude Church in Elm Hill on select dates from May 18 to July 1 2023.
The award-winning company devises plays using the themes of science and technology and the audience will wear headsets, with dining tables set in a circle around the stage area.
The show is set on board an Airbus A380 heading for London Heathrow and three chefs will serve a seven-course tasting menu as the story unfolds.
Ingredients mix, tastes cross-pollinate and strangers break bread together as the chefs guide you through a British-inspired culinary journey.
Jack Lowe, artistic director and CEO, said: "There is not much theatre on from May to July, so it felt like a lovely time to bring back a show last seen in Norwich at Stage Two in 2018.
"It then went to Shoreditch Town Hall in London in 2019 with investors the National Theatre Immersive Story Studio and it has been developed since its debut and is really different.
"We also have a brilliant early bird £35 deal at the moment where you get the food, an alcoholic or no alcoholic drink and the show - we are really interested in the total experience of a night out."
Curious Directive also runs the Botanical Garden Bar during the summer months, so audience members will be able to relax in stunning surroundings before the performance.
Mr Lowe added: "It is totally vital for us to diversify and Gastronomic brings together our strengths with immersive sound and great food."
