The project to build a new community centre to act as a hub for houses being built nearby is well under way.
Foundations were laid in Easton last month and there is a buzz in the village about it.
The Marlingford Road community centre is set to open in October and has been designed with sustainability in mind.
To mirror this, Easton Parish Council along with the help of horticultural firm CGM Group, has this week planted 180 trees in the area.
It is hoped that the trees will offset the carbon from the building of the centre.
Ben Moye, chairman of Easton Parish Council, said: “Trees provide us with many benefits, from improving the soil to supporting a range of species.
“The trees we have planted will help offset some of the carbon emissions associated with the construction of the new community centre, while providing a greener and more attractive environment.
“Less than 10 per cent of Norfolk is wooded so it is important we add to this limited tree cover where we can.”
