Police have sent a warning to shoplifters after a man stole from a sports shop and assaulted an officer while high on drugs.
Cops are planning to put in measures to deal with an uptick in similar thieves to the man who was arrested in January, charged and found guilty of the theft - along with three others - and the assault.

Officers are hoping to introduce an initiative in Norwich to allow them to issue criminal behaviour orders (CBOs) to the city's most prominent offenders, allowing them to ban criminals from certain parts of the city, among other actions.
A police spokeswoman said: "Theft and anti-social behaviour in our city affects everyone.
"Whether you're a shop owner or staff member, a frequent shopper or a passer-by, we know that these behaviours are unpleasant for all involved."

In order to start the new initiative, police have released a survey asking people about their experiences of shoplifting, whether they have been stolen from or have just witnessed a theft.
