The glass panels of a city bus stop have been totally shattered in a suspected vandalism attack.
The bus stop in Plumstead Road, opposite Hilary Avenue, was found smashed with broken glass from its protective panelling shattered around its base on the morning of Monday, March 6.
An advertising display board was also found lying on the floor.
It is thought that the damage occurred during the early hours of the morning.
The cause of the destruction has not been confirmed, but the extent of the damage has led to vandalism suspicions.
The shelter is owned by Norwich City Council which has a contract with advertising firm Clear Channel to manage bus shelters.
The glass was cleared on Tuesday and the shelter should be repaired on Thursday, weather permitting.
Chris Speed, operations director for bus company First East of England, said: "We have been made aware of this vandalism by a member of staff and we have now reported it to the owners of the shelter.
"Sadly it is not a one-off incident and happens all over the city.
"It's disappointing when you see this type of vandalism as most of the shelters are well used meaning customers have less protection from the weather."
