A court no-show has been fined after being arrested for being drunk and disorderly in the heart of Norwich's clubland.
Nathan Smart, 42, of Copenhagen Way, off Aylsham Road in Norwich, was charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
Smart did not attend the court hearing at Norwich Magistrates Court on Wednesday (March 8).
Prosecuting, Denise Holland said the offence happened in Prince of Wales Road on Wednesday, January 11 at about 2.20am.
The court heard how staff from Courtesy Taxis, based in the busy city centre street, called two on-duty police officers over to a taxi where Smart was inside.

She said the officers described him as "intoxicated" and smelling of liquor, as well as behaving in a disorderly way.
People were trying to get him out of the taxi when police were called and said he was unsteady on his feet.
Geoffrey Dyett, chairman of the bench, ordered Smart, who had not previously indicated a guilty or not guilty plea, to pay £736 for the public order crime.
