After having children and getting older, going out is a bit of a luxury.

I sometimes go out to a pub or a restaurant but that tends to be on special occasions and often the idea of staying inside on a cold night in front of the television is more appealing than going out into the city.

There is one event that always tempts me out though and that is a classic quiz.

I took part in the most recent Norwich City Fans Social Club quiz at Carrow Road that raised thousands of pounds for the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation charity which supports inclusion for people with disabilities, boosts mental health and wellbeing, and helps disadvantaged people to raise their aspirations.

It attracted dozens of people from across the fine city and included the classic music round, anagram category and picture round.

I went along with my work colleagues and despite me not being the most intellectual person, I was excited to take part.

Even if I did not understand the subject areas fully it was fun to get involved in the quiet discussion with my teammates over the answers.

I surprised myself after deciphering several anagrams of world political leaders and in two of the question rounds I came up with a few correct answers on subject areas that I did not think I knew much about.

We did not win the quiz but it was an entertaining evening.

Quizzes allow you to focus on something and be sociable and I would recommend it to anyone who is nervous about taking part in them.
