The East Anglian Film Archive (EAFA) is hosting a special event to celebrate the filmmaking talents of Norwich youngsters – and everyone’s invited.
The EAFA’s annual Mash-up competition invites filmmakers to make a new short film using archive footage from EAFA’s collections in the theme of ‘Climate emergency’.
The event will also feature BBC archive footage that was selected, digitised and preserved by UEA students as part of the Fast Forwarding Video Preservation project, which sought to preserve at-risk video for future generations.

Dr Tim Snelson, associate professor in media history at UEA, said: “This screening is a celebration of the skills and creativity of talented city students.
“Their contribution to preserving the at-risk footage was vital.”
Kate Oskirko, one of the participating students, said: “Thanks to the project, I got a glimpse into the recent history of Norwich and Norfolk and its communities.”
