City folk are bracing for a summer of kerbside battles after car parking charges were implemented at a neighbouring park.
Those living near Eaton Park say that parking outside their homes is already a "nightmare" - and some already resort to putting bins outside their homes.
The charges came into effect on Saturday after a city council consultation decided to introduce them, starting at £2 for four hours, and that has seen more drivers using roads that aren't covered by parking permits.
With big events often bringing congestion to the area, Lila Brissett, 71, said weekends had already been a "pain" before the charges arrived.
She said: "Every Saturday and Sunday, without fail, the roads are packed.
"There's nothing we can do to stop it. All we can do is let them carry on."

Dr Ehab Hamrsa lives in Pettus Road and said "It's already congested here. It's now starting to build up.
"It makes it very narrow to pass."
Over in Buckingham Road, parking on grass verges can land drivers a £70 fine.
"It's a nightmare," said a woman living there. "People always use our road to park because the car park is full.
"Now they've got a fee, more of them will come and park however they like - and they park horrendously.
"If emergency services had to come here, they wouldn't get through."
Buckingham Road neighbour Gloria Daynes added: "We've been blocked in our drive before. We live close to the corner so we've not been able to swing out.
"With a charge, people aren't going to pay to park. Why would they when they can park here for free?"
One man, who has lived in Peckover Road for 60 years, said: "We're not seeing problems at the moment, but we expect it for the summer.
"Charges will make it worse. On weekends we'll have to put our bins out on the drive to stop people from blocking it."
