A city boozer is planning the "biggest pub beer festival Norfolk has ever seen" as part of its bumper summer programme of events.

The Brewery Tap in Lawson Road will celebrate the 10th year of its annual Tapfest in September and will have more than 100 cask and keg beers to enjoy.

Other upcoming events include a blowout for the King's coronation and a huge garden party with live music and a barbecue.

Landlord Mark White said he hopes to "bring the fun back" this summer after a difficult year for hospitality businesses.

"This year we are doing things bigger and better than before," he said.

"While the pub has been running for 13 years Covid meant we couldn't hold our annual Tapfest so it will be the 10th anniversary of the event and we wanted to do something extra special to celebrate the occasion.

"It is going to be huge - the size and like that Norwich has never seen and we think may be the biggest pub beer festival ever held in Norfolk."

While this year's Tapfest may be the main event of the summer, it is just one of the many celebrations planned at the pub, kicking off with the King's coronation in May where there will be one-off brews and an afternoon tea for beer lovers.

A "huge" garden party is booked in July with live music and barbecue food and in September a live brass band will perform to mark the last night of the proms.

Despite a challenging year due to the cost of living crisis, Mr White remains positive for the future ahead.

He added: "Like everyone, we've been affected by factors outside of our control and have been hammered by rising costs.

"But the atmosphere in the pub is brilliant and the support from our customers has never been better."
