From pasta to pastries, these cafés and restaurants in Norwich have recently expanded with new city branches to meet demand.
1. The Café Club
Rebecca Savage swapped a career in the tech industry to follow her passion by opening a café in King Street in 2016.
Due to its success, she opened a second branch at the top of St Andrews Hill in May 2022 and both sell a range of sandwiches, cakes, coffees and light lunches.

2. Al Dente
This authentic Italian pasta restaurant boasts both indoor and outdoor seating on St Giles Street and it also does takeaways and delivery.
It has just secured a kitchen residency at The Trafford Arms pub following a refurbishment by owners Nick and Briony De’Ath, whose portfolio also includes The Unthank Arms and William and Florence.
3. Yard
Yard was opened by friends George Colley, also behind the hugely popular Brick Pizza, and Nathaniel Crothers in Pottergate in 2021.
It became an instant hit for its affordable and delicious pasta dishes and, to meet demand, it has just launched in the kitchen at The Stanley pub in NR3, with the new addition of Steak Sundays.

4. Wagamama
Wagamama has been at Chantry Place in Norwich for many years, offering Japanese dishes such as chicken katsu and ramen.
Earlier this year, the nationwide chain expanded into a second city restaurant at Riverside, in the former home of Chiquitos.

5. Loaf Microbakery
While its first bakery is in Wymondham, which opened in 2021, Loaf has just expanded into Norwich with its second branch in Dove Street.
On offer is sourdough, focaccia, doughnuts, cinnamon buns and much more, with everything plant-based.
