Norwich has been named one of the top five cities in the UK to relocate to, according to new research by a leading insurance broker.
The city ranks fourth in a list by life insurance broker Reassured, which has analysed key factors people consider when relocating such as unemployment rate, average house price, salary, bills, outstanding schools and crime ratings.
The firm described Norwich as a “great city to move to, whether you move on your own or with family” and gave it an overall score of 4.77 – making it one of the UK’s most up-and-coming cities.
The figure placed it just behind Oxford, which was awarded a score of 4.79, Newcastle, which scored 4.84, and York, which topped the list with a score of 5.15.
According to the research, average house prices in Norwich are £214,448 – cheaper than both Oxford (£439,740) and York (£286,987).
Of the top four cities ranked on the list, Norwich also offered the cheapest bills and the lowest crime rate.
Figures from online consumer platform Statista suggest that over 300,000 British households are interested in moving to another home in 2023.
