People living in Bowthorpe are angry that they are still waiting for Virgin Media to remove a battered piece of street furniture from their area.

The box in Dragonfly Way was reported as having been vandalised in March, with rusty edges causing danger.

When it was last reported an engineer went out and put a barrier around it which led people in the area to believe that the eyesore would soon be removed.

She said: “I am very frustrated that nothing has happened – it was great when they came out and placed some interim barriers around the damaged box, but I really thought it would be fully removed by now.

“It feels like we are back to square one.”

A Virgin Media spokesman said: “We apologise for the delay in removing this cabinet.

"We fully appreciate residents’ concerns and an engineer will be on site this week to undertake the necessary work.”
