The owner of a dog which attacked and left another pooch with a shredded leg, has been slapped with a warning by police.
The attack happened in Fitzmaurice Park, in Thorpe St Andrew, on March 24 where seven-year-old labrador Molly was bitten by another dog.
The attack left Molly with damage so severe on her back left leg her owner, Tina Colney, said "she'll never be the same again."
Mrs Colney, who lives in Dussindale Drive, said: "While Molly is recovering well she's been left with an eight inch scar and still has pain and discomfort.
"We've bought a vest for Molly that reads 'I need space' mainly to stop other dogs from approaching her during her recovery, or in case Molly becomes excited or scared and possibly twists her injured leg, damaging it further.
"We're disappointed that we've had to resort to this, because so many people allow their uncontrolled dogs off the lead to approach dogs that are on the lead, without trying to recall them."
After police called for witnesses to come forward about the incident a formal warning has been issued to the owner requiring the dog to be put on a lead with a muzzle when in public.

A police spokeswoman said: "Following an incident that occurred last month in Fitzmaurice park, in which a dog was attacked by another, officers have delivered an incident form to the offending dog's owner.
"This incident form stipulates that a muzzle and lead must be worn by the dog when being walked in public.
"If further incidents occur there could be serious consequences, such as the seizure of the dog."
Mrs Colney, 53, added while she's happy with the action taken by police she's still concerned about future encounters.
She added: "We've asked our local friends who walk their dogs to be vigilant and send us any photographs if the owner is seen in breach of the police's warning."
