Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service has issued a warning ahead of a training exercise that will see units practice a high-rise evacuation.

Firefighters will gather at Winchester Tower near Unthank Road for the training exercise on Thursday, May 25 to test their emergency response.

The exercise was previously scheduled for 7pm to 10pm on Thursday May 18 but was rescheduled for unknown reasons.

In a tweet, a spokesman wrote: "If you see our crews in the area, please stay calm and give our team the space they need to work.

"Every exercise is a chance to test our plans to keep everyone safe."

Fire crews were at Carrow Road in March to practice a similar exercise at the football stadium which allows crews to plan for the event of a blaze in difficult-to-reach areas.
