Four buildings are to be demolished as a car dealership eyes expansion under its new ownership.

Swans Motor Group is planning to expand its Heigham Street forecourt in the city's NR2 area, knocking down numbers 241, 242, 243 and 245 to expand the plot.

It comes after the business was taken over by the former owner of Anglia Square Cars, located in the centre of the shopping complex.

The car dealership's boss, Jamie Bone, said business had been booming since he took over the new site a month ago.

He said: "We've been here a month and it's been going really well so we've decided to expand.

"We were previously Anglia Square Cars and now we've decided to have a rebrand and move to a bigger forecourt."

Anglia Square Cars closed on April 1, when the business moved to its new premises.

Swans Motor Group applied to Norwich City Council for planning permission on Tuesday, May 16, and those who wish to comment will have until June 9 to do so.

It is hoped a decision on the plans will be made by July 11.
