Move over Dora - would-be explorers should get ready as a safari hunt is coming to the city centre.

Hidden animal sculptures will be awaiting discovery this summer at Chantry Place which,  once complete, could land children a free ticket to visit Banham Zoo or Africa Alive.

From July 22 to September 3, families can begin tracking them down by picking up a trail map from Deichmann on the ground floor before embarking on the adventure.

Paul McCarthy, general manager at Chantry Place, said: “Families can have a fun-filled day exploring Chantry Place this summer, going on our summer safari to find our animal sculptures and learning some animal facts along the way."

On 'Wild Wednesdays' educational activities will also be available to challenge children's wits. They will be hosted by teams from Schoodoodle and from Banham Zoo and Africa Alive.

Successful explorers not only get a free goody bag offering a complimentary child’s ticket with a fee-paying adult to the Norfolk and Suffolk zoos but there is also a chance to win a family annual pass every week.

The event marks a new partnership between Chantry Place and the Zoological Society of East Anglia, the charity behind Banham Zoo and Africa Alive.

The free Schoodoodle activities will be held on July 22 - 23 and August 14 - 15 and can be booked in advance here.

Hannah Cole and Terry Stewart, from team SchooDoodle, said: “We are so excited to be part of ‘Safari Summer’ at Chantry Place and can’t wait to get creative every Wednesday.

"We have a different animal-themed crafting activity each week. Join us in embracing the mess, empowering creativity, and making memories with your little ones this summer.”

Visitors from Norfolk Wildlife Trust will also be at the shopping centre on August 7 and 21, offering free activities for everyone to enjoy.
