The long-awaited opening date for a popular Norfolk Broads pub has been announced.
Salhouse Lodge, in Vicarage Road, will be opening on June 4 for drinks only and live music from 4pm, followed by the restaurant on June 9.
The pub was taken on by Colchester Inns, which owns The Recruiting Sergeant and The Rising Sun in Coltishall, the Black Boys Hotel in Aylsham and The Bucks in Blickling, and the pub has undergone a huge refurbishment.
Run by Nicola and Matthew Colchester, the Inns is a "real family affair".
Their son George, 25, will be leading the team at Salhouse Lodge, while their daughter Grace is set to finish university and help between new premises and The Recruiting Sergeant.
Mr and Mrs Colchester have been running the Recruiting Sergeant for 31 years, since they were 19, raising Grace and George in the publican trade.
Mrs Colchester said: "It's very exciting as it has been a new project with lots of hard work.
"We really hope everyone enjoys it, and we have had a lot of interest from locals already.
"They have been without a pub for so long and now they have two coming with The Bell reopening."
Salhouse Lodge will be offering meat from Swannington and Hevingham, and using the same suppliers the family have done for 30 years.
There will be a lighter options menu and the pub will be serving breakfast to non-residents.
The Colchesters plan to host live music on dedicated Sunday afternoons, and encourage people to check their social media for dates.
Mrs Colchester added: "We are very happy with how it is feeling, which is very similar to The Recruiting Sergeant.
"We want to have a slow start so people go away happy.
"Sat between Salhouse and Wroxham Broad, we want to be a spot for walkers and bikers."
Tables can be booked online via Instagram and Facebook. Rooms can be booked via email to manager@salhouselodge.co.uk.
