Two busy city junctions will face several weeks of closures and temporary traffic lights for works later this month.

The replacement of the traffic lights at the busy junctions of Koblenz Avenue with Canary Way and Carrow Road with Canary Way is due to start on June 18.

The work is expected to take two weeks to complete on each junction, weather permitting.

Work at the junction of Carrow Road with Canary Way will start on July 15.

To carry out the works it will be necessary to install multi-way temporary traffic lights, which will be manually controlled during peak periods to help traffic flow as smoothly as possible while the work is underway.

During the works in Koblenz Avenue, a closure of Canary Way will be in place for two nights.

The work, which will cost £130,000, will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and their contractors.

It comes as part of a countywide traffic signal replacement programme which involves updating traffic lights where necessary to ensure they continue to meet current standards and work reliably and efficiently.
