A fire behind a popular city pub reduced a bin store and neighbouring fencing to ashes in a suspected arson attack.
The blaze broke out at around 2.35am on Wednesday (June 7) in an alley between The Whalebone pub in Magdalen Road and nearby properties.
Footage, shot the following day by an NR3 man walking his dog, shows a row of bins near the pub that were caught in the fire which also ripped through the fence belonging to 142 Magdalen Road.
Fire crews from Sprowston attended the scene where they used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire, with the stop message received at 2.48am.
A police spokeswoman said: "The incident was reported to us as criminal damage as a result of suspected arson and inquiries are under way."
The Whalebone declined to comment.
