A number of Norwich streets will face disruption for up to six weeks due to roadworks.
Essential surfacing works will begin today (June 12) on Rupert Street, between its junctions with Essex Street and Norfolk Street.
The work will see old paving slabs removed and new asphalt surfacing laid, along with the replacement of damaged kerbs.
During this time two-way traffic lights will be in place between Rupert Street, Vauxhall Street and Essex Street.

Pedestrian access will be restricted to one or more entrances to Jenny Lind Park for a two-week period during the scheme.
Pedestrian and Cycle access will also be restricted to the shared-use footpath between Rupert Street and Trinity Street for the same period.
A diversion route will be set out with appropriate signs for pedestrians and cyclists who would be affected by these restrictions.
The works are expected to take six weeks to complete, weather permitting.
The work which will cost £55,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and contractors.
