A coalition of city pubs hope to challenge the likes of Leeds' Otley Run and London's Bermondsey Mile for the best pub crawl in the country.
From the Roseberry to the Ribs of Beef, nine watering holes in the NR3 area have all agreed to be involved.
To celebrate the launch of the NR3 Beer Mile, four days of events are planned in August, offering everything from live music to limited-edition beers.
Mark White, of the Brewery Tap in Lawson Road, said: "In recent years, the pub scene in NR3 has boomed with so many unique and individual businesses making their own mark on the area.

"Many are independent and offer different experiences which help make the area a fantastic place for a drink.
"We are all very close and know each other well so thought this could be a great opportunity to collaborate and promote this part of the city through the NR3 Beer Mile."

The nine pubs that have chosen to be involved as well as The Brewery Tap are The Malt & Mardle, The Roseberry, The Duke of Wellington, The Artichoke, The Stanley, the Cottage, The Ribs of Beef and The Leopard.
Pokémon-style cards will be available at each pub, giving punters the chance to collect them all and complete the beer mile.
It is hoped a lineup of more than 200 beers will be on offer over the weekend, alongside a huge selection of ciders.
Mr White added: "The idea is to put NR3 on the map by rallying together to show support for each other and celebrate the community as a whole.
"It is the best pub crawl I've been on and it is probably the best in the county, maybe even the country."
The NR3 Beer Mile celebrations will take place from Thursday, August 11, to Sunday, August 13, with further details of the events taking place to be revealed nearer the date.
