A popular takeaway said it "hopes to get business back on track" after bouncing back from a one-star food hygiene rating.

Ahmed Spice in Back Lane, Wymondham, received a one-star food hygiene rating in March but has since received the coveted five-star rating in a recent re-inspection.

The re-visit, which took place on June 27, saw the Food Standards Agency (FSA) happy with the alterations made for the Indian takeaway.

A spokesman for Ahmed Spice said: "We're delighted with the new rating.

"We understand that a lot of customers may have lost trust in us due to the previous rating, but we want to assure everyone that everything is being dealt with to a high standard.

"This new five-star rating will hopefully prove we're passionate about our food and the way it's handled, taking into account allergies and general hygiene.

"The business has definitely suffered since the rating, but we hope to get back on track to where it was and provide customers with quality food."
