A Norwich baker has been celebrated after making a remarkable replica of a customer's violin out of cake.
Julie Wentworth has been a professional baker for six years and co-owns the shop Balloons and Bakes in Old Catton alongside Helen Kerton.
Recently Julie, 43, made a replica of a customer's violin as a gift from her husband – but went the extra mile to make it special.
She said: “I did not want to just make any old violin, I wanted it to clearly be her own, so I included all the wear and dents from her own violin.
“When she saw it, I wanted her to recognise it.”
Julie also made the cake the exact same measurements as the violin taking it the next step into being a replica.

She said: “Her husband was buying this as a special present, so it was important for us to go the extra mile to ensure that it was as special as possible.
“Included in that is making it taste good – everyone has different preferences with cake, but I am not a huge fan of lots of fondant so we use high quality fondant that I can roll out very thin meaning I get all the detail, but customers will not bite into a huge lump of fondant.
“Instead, a bite will have thin fondant, buttercream and really good cake.”

Julie is completely self-taught and believes she was just lucky enough to have a natural flair for cake making and fondant.
She said: “I’ve learnt through doing.

“I try things different ways and I’ve just got a knack for it. I will go the extra mile for all my customers to make the perfect cake for their budget.”
The customer, Judith, was so pleased with the cake that she popped into the shop to thank Julie.
Co-owner Helen Kerton added: “I think Julie should be entering the Netflix show Is It Cake.”
