The body of an 18-year-old was found inside a property just a minute’s walk away from his home, a court has heard.
Kai Mogg, of Enterprise Gardens, Costessey, was discovered at an address in nearby Britannia Way on Tuesday, July 4.
His mother, Emma Woolfenden, identified the body of her son at the scene to officers from Norfolk police.
An inquest into the teenager’s death was opened at Norfolk Coroner’s Court at County Hall, Norwich, on Tuesday, July 11.
Led by area coroner for Norfolk, Yvonne Blake, she said Mrs Woolfenden had confirmed that Kai Thomas Kieran Mogg was born on October 22, 2004, in Norwich, and was employed as a builder.
Ms Blake gave the medical cause of death as “hanging”.
An inquest to determine the official cause of death will take place later this year at the coroner's court on Monday, December 4.
