A much-loved city haunt has reopened as a new bar with an "American undertone".
Dick's Bar is officially opening today (July 12) in the former premises of Frank's Bar in Bedford Street as a relaxed café come bar space.
Andy Pitt, 52, and Tom Ginn, 40, took over the building when they heard of the shock closure of Frank's Bar in January.
The premises originally consisted of three cottages at the back, belonging to Mr Ginn's uncle Dick, and a jeweller's in the front, belonging to the council.
The ownership has remained the same as the use has changed.

Mr Ginn, who also runs Toast and Milk Dessert Bar in Yalm, said: "I have always loved Frank's and had early dates with my wife in here.
"So after a three-and-a-half-minute call with my uncle Dick, we were proud owners."
The bar will serve a big breakfast and brunch menu followed by lunch and evening food, with bagels, corn dogs, smashed burgers and chicken wings.
Mr Ginn added: "Dick's is whatever you want it to be. Whether you want to come in for a coffee and a croissant in the morning, have a first date, a business meeting, come in and write your dissertation - the lot.

"If you want to sit in here for three hours working and buy one coffee, we want you here.
"Food will change throughout the day to compliment drinks and there is a big American undertone to what we are doing here, making the feel of backstreet Brooklyn speakeasies.
"Lots of subtle design changes have been made. The brilliant interior designer Hannah Peek took our vision and bought it to life, including elements such as the bar which now has four shelves for drinks.
"The soft launch on Sunday was packed all day and it was great to see people in the space."
The café come bar will be open from 8am to midnight, with food served to sit in or takeaway from 10am to 10pm within the next month once the kitchen is completed.
