He will always be loved by Canaries fans but a city pub has decided to remove a mural of Daniel Farke after his arrival at Leeds United.
The artwork dedicated to the popular head coach appeared on the side of the Fat Cat and Canary pub in 2021 after Farke had inspired City to the second Championship title of his reign.
However, the Thorpe Road boozer has decided to reinstate a blank canvas ahead of the German returning to Carrow Road as an opposition manager this season.
Farke was appointed Leeds boss earlier this month, who are expected to be one of Norwich's fiercest rivals in the Championship this season.
Fat Cat and Canary landlord Christian Hodgkinson said: "It definitely wouldn't be right to have a Leeds manager on the side of my pub so it had to go.
"I wish he hadn't as the artwork was amazing but he has gone now and so has the mural."
The large painting was commissioned by fan group Along Come Norwich in May 2021 and was created by street artist Gnasher Murals on the side of the popular supporters' pub amid the fanfare of the Canaries' promotion to the Premier League that season.
The artwork brought many visitors to the pub who were eager to have a picture in front of it.
But the mood soured as the 2021/2022 campaign floundered, with some fans questioning whether it should be removed due to the team's poor form.
Farke was dismissed 11 games into that top-flight season and went on to manage German top-flight side Borussia Monchengladbach but was sacked after a mid-table finish last season.
The pub's wall has now been painted black and a new mural is set to be painted next week.
But Mr Hodgkinson kept his cards close to his chest over what will take its place, with garages on the site already featuring club legends Jeremy Goss and Grant Holt.
He added: "I can tell you it will be something in connection with the football club but you will just have to wait and see."
Farke's return to Carrow Road with the Yorkshire side is scheduled for Saturday, October 21, when he is sure to receive a warm welcome.
